Purpose
C.E.C.C.O. was established in 1979 by the I.C.I. sector of the unionized construction industry to coordinate collective bargaining on behalf of designated Employer Bargaining Agencies responsible for the negotiation of province-wide single trade agreements applicable to the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (I.C.I.) sector of the industry. C.E.C.C.O. also serves as a common voice for unionized contractors on a wide range of issues including legislative reform and labour relations practices. CECCO is managed by an elected executive Committee who in turn appoint an Executive Negotiations Committtee.
Trade Groupings
There are four trade groupings within CECCO, and members are encouraged to participate. The groups provide a forum for discussions and dialogue for EBAs having mutual concerns. Each Group is assured representation on the Executive Negotiations Committee.
